Creality CR 10 S5 Upgrades

Creality CR 10 S5 have been made for the ones who are looking for a large scale printer. The S5 Comes with a printing volume of 500 x 500 x 500 mm. Yet, the printer is considered to be an old printer that doesn’t include much features. Even, the heated bed came in some versions with smaller size than the printing area. In this article we will cover the upgrades that can be done for the CR 10 S5 to make it able to print.

SKR Mini E3 V3 Upgrade for CR 10 S5

The main board that came originally with the CR 10 S5 must be replaced due to the old stepper motor drivers, low ability to modify it, and lack of available ports. Thus, the SKR Mini E3 V3 is the best option to replace it with.

The replacement of the board for the CR 10 S5 is relatively simple and can be completed with minimal modifications. Upgrading to the SKR Mini E3 V3 provides better stepper motor drivers, additional expansion ports, and improved firmware compatibility.

Micro Probe for CR 10 S5 with SKR Mini E3 V3

Placing a bed leveling sensor for the CR 10 S5 is a must; otherwise, it would be impossible to print using the full bed volume. The best bed leveling solution available on the market is the Micro Probe, which provides precise values and comes at an affordable price.
